What I have found, was I go to the four windows symbol; then I right click on the pic. that I want to make smaller; then I left click on Open; this brings up different sizes, then I left click on the size I want, then left click on the word, APPLY.
This is how I found out how to make the photos smaller for our new board.

This sounds interesting, l2b. Where did you find the 'four windows' symbol? Does the resize change the size of the actual image posted, or the size of the thumbnail?
I found the four windows symbol under my desk top screen. Following this procedure, I am able to make the right size for emailing which is what the board will accept.

Oh, rats. I wonder if that's something specific to your computer--I don't see one of those. Sounds like a nice feature, though!

I don't know, Hazel, I'm computer illiterate; I miss my old computer, using this one is like starting from scratch, things are all changed around and hidden.

No one on this forum is computer illiterate. If you make it here, create and id, logon and create a post that makes you much more computer literate than many others I think you are using the Email option in the Windows viewer. It will look different depending on the version of windows that you have. Maybe try using an online photo editor to resize? If you want to give it a try I posting instructions in the Help, Tips thread.

Oy...no wonder things look different for you. My laptop runs Windows 8. I've heard that Windows 10 is due out next year or late this year and will be more PC friendly

I guess I'm a minority. I like the look of Windows 8. It was a learning curve but fun.

I can see where W8 would be great for a smaller device, like a smart phone or a tablet--but on a PC it's a pain in the butt! I guess with W10, they're backtracking to a more PC-friendly display. My biggest gripe with W8 is that file handling is so goofy...makes it really hard for me to find, edit and retrieve images. Plus all the extra clicks I have to make to get to things that used to be right on my desktop but are now on the start up screen.

Right click on any app on the start up screen, choose show in folder, then find the icon and right click and choose create, or maybe it says send shortcut to desktop.

You should see my desktop! LOL Runs slow if you put too much there, though.
Another thing that I really miss is Microsoft Picture Manager--it has a really simple resizing tool--when the PC (running Vista) dies, I've got to figure out something to replace it in the newer version of Windows.

HRM -Yesterday I found that if you right click on a photo and choose edit it brings the photo up in Microsoft's Paint. There is a resize option in the upper left, near top.

Oh, I've used Paint before! A little clumsier than Picture Manager, but do-able! Thanks, Lue!
Ginny, that worked great for your pic!
