Glad your red-bellied woodpecker is back! Woodpeckers are so much fun to watch.
It's been very warm here, too--and our feeder traffic is way down because of it! Cooler air is on the way, though--we're actually below freezing all day today! O.O

I can't wait until the weather "normalizes", even though I'm getting good sightings, it is like pulling teeth! So, both days dry, temps between 35 and 50,watched for total of 4 hours.

I'd like some normal weather, too--Mud Season with 7 dogs is no fun! LOL
Is it normal for you to have White-throated sparrows so late in the year? Except for the juncos, our sparrows are long gone...

White throats arrive here around mid-November with the juncos and leave in April or May. They have been sparse so far this year.... too darn warm, I guess! We also get some wintering chipping sparrows, but they don't frequent the feeders. If real lucky, I'll get a fox sparrow to hang around like last year!

So, welcome to the Summer Feeder Watch.... we hit the 70's a couple of times this week! But rain, rain, and more rain. So much on Christmas day, the fields must have been too flooded for rodents... I had a Red-Tailed Hawk diving on Mourning Doves in the yard!

Its the warmest December ever on record here. Christmas Eve was something like 68 degrees. Hoping for some colder weather (but can do without the snow!). I enjoy winter, its nice to have some cold, brisk days. Its crazy that my heated bird bath isn't even plugged in on New Year's Eve.
I see you have hawks too Mary. They've been here too much. I looked out on Sunday morning and one flew down and drank from the bird bath. Sat there looking around like he was wanted, lol. I waited until he was done drinking until I opened the door to get him to fly off.

We finally got cold and there's maybe 5 inches of snow on the ground, so things are looking a bit more wintry. Have you two cooled off any? Lots of hawks here, too--a Sharpie has been haunting the feeder line (gave the banding crew a real thrill as it whipped over their heads on Dec 30 ) and this morning we saw a Goshawk wing across the front yard. O.O Still seeing buteos, too--Red-tailed and Rough-legged mostly. I think I even saw a kestrel the other day!
