Is everyone looking forward to May 9th.? It's the Global Big Day sponsored by Cornell.
They want everyone to count back yard birds or birds in the field for one day, record them on eBird, that's all there is to it. The time spent can as little as half hour or longer, it is up to the individual.
Looking forward to May 9th,

I bird from the backyard every day and eBird the results, so I guess I'm going to be participating! Maybe I can work in a trip to the Augusta State Wildlife Area that day, too....

I probably won't have any pics, l2b--the times I've visited the August SWA, there was only one day where there was anything close enough to photograph. And most of the time there isn't anything other than crows, jays and chickadees. But it's a lovely place to walk so no trip is ever wasted.
