Painted Bunting seen in Brooklyn, New York

Great  photo and story in today's NY Post regarding the rare sighting of a painted bunting in Brooklyn.  He is only one of ten of his species to have arrived since 1927.  What a beautiful bird and what an event!

Hi Barb,  I saw the painted bunting write up from brooklyn.  My daughter lives in brooklyn heights.  I was gonna go in with my Hubby for my daughters 30th last wed.  But a bug kept me home.  My cousin works at the meadowlands refuge and one of those workers has one in essex co.  so excited about both of them.  still here.  Ginny H.

Hi Ginny, just saw your post about the painted bunting. What a shame you couldn't get to see it. My eyes are always on the lookout for a bird I've never seen before.

I worry about the birds with the storm about to hit us. Just filled up all the feeders and the bird bath.
