We really got hammered, although, the biggest snow fall was on Thanksgiving, 1950, thirty inches deep; this was only two feet.

I hope you are melting quickly. 2 feet is a pain in the butt (and back). Our big snow just finished melting and now we're getting 8" more today. Weather has been nuts. It went from 59 and raining to 32 and snowing in 8 hours or so. Maybe you'll be at 59 by today

Yep, that's a powerful lot o' snow! I can see the birds appreciate your offerings! My snowshoes want me to move east--they aren't getting near enough exercise here! Your 'little' storm of 8" is more than we've had on the ground this year, downylover! Is your snow melting, yet, l2b?

Only two feet? I'd go crazy if we got that. We had 15 inches. Couldn't get to the feeders so swept off the back porch steps and put seed down on them. Also threw seed on top of the snow. I think the birds were happy and the squirrels.

We are expecting more accumulating snow/rain mix from Monday evening into Tuesday, maybe 1 to 3 inches of snow, depending on the temperature.
If it turns into ice, we are in big trouble, nothing goes on ice.

wow, i love the way it stands up on the feeder. Ours was so heavy it compacted. They said if it was not as heavy it would have been two ft. We are in Ma for over a week. Have to try and get home inbetween next weeks storms. this last snow was so pretty, It just got more beautiful as it went on. Then I woke up this morning Sat. and took a photo with my phone that just blew me away. Also a video which I am not so sure how to share but will try this. I think feeding them helps them in the storms. And, they always find the food whereever we get it out there for them We ended up with a foot and now they're predicting it could snow for 3 days, but not that much snow. They haven't gotten the snow right at all this winter. The big storm was first predicted as 6" and this last was first predicted as 1" so either we'll get rain or be buried under 52". I'm hoping for rain. ETA: Beautiful photo Ginny! (can't see the video)

Beautiful photo, Ginny!! I can't see the video, either, though. Does it need to be set to 'public', maybe?

What a great photo, Ginny.
Luv2, Whenever I trek through the snow to fill the feeders, I think of all my bird friends at the Forum doing the same thing. I feel so bad for our "flying flowers," as my husband calls them.

We got about 18 inches here on 2/8. That was almost more snow than we'd had all winter up to that point! Had lot of birds at the feeder that day! Beautiful photo Ginny!

Argh! I'm so envious, peggy! I don't think we've had 18" all winter! We've been venturing into Mud Season already--not my favorite time of year!
