a couple of buddies joined the pair this evening! The pair was here for awhile and I came inside. I looked out and thought I was nuts for a second because I saw a second male. Then, another male landed. Here's only shot I was able to get of the group: Attachments:

They ended up being here for 2.5 hours (who was watching the ducklings???!!). I'm wondering if it was their farewell for the year. Last year they departed around the 15th so they could leave at any time. If it was their last day they certainly spent some quality time with me before going. They ate, napped, waddled all around, bathed, floated, ate, napped, waddled..... Pure joy to watch them. Come back next year please ducks! Here's nap, snack, float pics:

They're such a cute couple! I love the pool shot! I hope this isn't the last you see of them this year. Maybe the males will hang around and partake of your pool

They've been back every day since the group came. I really thought they were done and am so happy to have these extra days. Tonight they were here for an hour and a half but most of the other days were 30 minutes or less. They seem so relaxed. When they first landed tonight they had a quick snack then he just plopped down and took a nap while she floated. The chipmunk hopped over him and woke him up after about 10 minutes then he ate more and hopped in the pool. So cute.

Are they still hanging around? And how rude of that chipmunk! heheh Doesn't he know you're supposed to let sleeping ducks lie? Oh. Wait. I guess that's sleeping dogs, isn't it...

Haha. They've been back a few more times. They were here twice on Sunday, for breakfast and for dinner. Brief morning visit but almost 2 hours in the evening. I didn't seen them tonight but there were bad storms at the time they generally show up. Hopefully tomorrow! They were gone by this time the past 2 years so every extra visit is a treat. He floated for about 45 minutes; his Father's Day relaxation: Attachments:
