Many of the birds love blueberries and grapes but I have one young red bellied that seems to be quite fond of cherries. It took me several tries to get a picture of him, this is the best I could get. Attachments:

I also have a chipmunk that gobbles cherries and a young bunny that eats grapes and cherries. Their cherries are coming to an end, looks like the sales are over for them. Back to grapes!

The red bellieds take whole peanuts and fruit to the tree and smush it into a crack in the bark. They then sit there and peck away at it. They go pretty high up so I can't get a good picture. That also seems to be how they teach the young ones. They put them in the tree, bring the food, feed them some then nudge them towards where they put it.

Do they get juice-stained faces from the cherries? I'd love to see that. I don't offer whole fruit here--they don't seem to go for it much--but I've never tried cherries...

Nice to see you, Barb!!!
I'm not sure if I still have the pictures but a couple of years back I had a catbird with stains from eating blueberries. The blueberry juice on his gray feathers made it look red. When I first saw him I got upset for a moment thinking he was bleeding. Then I saw him gorging on the berries, LOL. I also had a female cardinal with blueberry stains once.
Grapes are big here year round, mostly with the cardinals. I throw grapes to bunny but she needs to act fast. The cardinals will swoop in and steal her grapes.

My cat birds are not visible much since i stopped with the grape jelly. Due to bees. The chipmunks are all our blue berries from plants. I hope all people and birds faired ok in these hericaines. We had been in Merritt island last January doing bird photo. I did see a report of how it was hit. Rosetta spoonbills were there. Right now my feeders are full of gold finches. I saw the white breasted nut is back. Have not seen them in a while. My ospreys are gone.
