Not particularly 'exotic' in the usual sense, but definitely an odd time of year for a sighting. An Eastern towhee stopped by yesterday for a snack. Usually they're gone by the middle of October, so this little guy is definitely late. He had good feather condition, and flew strongly, though, so I don't think he was ailing--more likely just an optimistic thinker who got caught in our sudden change of weather (we went from 58° one day, to 21° the next....) Anyway, it was a nice surprise!

Congrats Hazel on your Towhee sighting.
Our weather here is similar to your weather, we went from the 60's into the 30's in a 24 hour period.

No more 50s for us. The highest we're supposed to get is about 30--so I think it's going to be a white Christmas! Towhee got smart and appears to have moved on, bless his heart.
