Looks like a house sparrow to me, too, Ginny. Song sparrows have nice dark malars and a more strongly marked crown.

The top bird of the three is a female House sparrow.
The other two are white-throated sparrows. The yellow lores and the face pattern in that third shot tell me it's a white-throated, even though you can't see the white throat very well.

Thank you all for your help. Sparrows and Hawks. oye... I was reaching to move my camera today and up hopped a return Kingbird/phobie I have not looked at the photos yet and you know how excited we get. will share when I see them. I was just so happy that he perched right at a great spot. Ginny H.
