I can't find any references for this bird. Can you help. I saw it in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I don't think it is a bird common to the USA. John Attachment Deleted

Hmmm...I think you're right--it's not a bird common to the US. I have no clue as to what it is, though! Could you email a copy of the pic to Cornell for ID?

Lue, you are good! I found it on the web for birds of the Dominican Republic. Thank you for the confirmation. Have a good day. John

Thanks for the compliment but it wasn't me... the search engines. I typed in "common birds of the Dominican Republic" and looked at some images. Seemed to be a match. Glad I could confirm the bird with you. Another lifer, I assume?

Awesome! Lue is good--I tried something similar but I lose patience searching online--or get distracted by a fascinating tangent and forget what I'm looking for! LOL Nice ID, Lue! And congrats on yet another lifer, John!

Here is another DR bird. I thought it was a common Grackle, but the web site said it was a Greater Antillean Grackle. They look the same to me, go figure! John

Maybe a little bigger bill and a little more tail than our common grackles? Handsome bird, though! And another lifer, I presume!

Hazel--another lifer. One of these I will make a list. John

It almost seems like a cross between a crow and a grackle. Neat looking bird!
