Hi Guys, Last week when we came back from Ma. I noticed the last NOrEaster had blown down the osprey newt up on the field lights. This saturday they returned as I was outside filling my feeders. hands all gooped up with suet. in the back door calling for the camera. wiped my hands on my pants. Out the front door to watch them soar. She landed on a different post. He tried to land there also. (discussion of what the plan was) then the rain came. I was just setting up my 600 on the tripod with al help. But with the rain we headed in. Sunday was rain on and off and when ever i checked I did not see any action. Today I also did not see any action. Now last year when they arrived the jv came also. There was chasing. Then up the road on a telephone pole the youngens built a nice nest. till a fire started and the power went out. The power co along with the Osprey foundation. They moved the nest after building a high platform. There had been two eggs but they soon got abandoned. I have not seen these Osprey returnd either. however Many in ocean co have come back .

Once she landed on the far left pole I could only see one wing. It did look like he was trying to mate. I sure do hope they can rebuild soon. Ginny H. |

They're such gorgeous birds, Ginny! You're so lucky to be so near the nesting platforms. I hope they come back and start over this summer.

They were back today. Pouring rain ☔️. I did take some photos from an open upstairs bedroom that faces the nest. Still pretty far.

Hazel they came back and were building Tuesday , then i saw him bring her a fish. the next day he dropped the fish. They don't seam to go get it, interesting. I know last year he dropped on on my front lawn and i was braced with the camera in my house. Never came back to get it. hmmm ginny h. |

Why do I see so many update posts , what do I have to do to share photo's. it says photo bucket. Well I will try the normal way see if it works. Hi All hope your summer is going well. It has been very hot humid and to many days of staying indoors. Wednesday is our good day so we might go birding. BUT the green head flies are out there . The hot weather has not stopped company coming to visit. Seeing family is always a good thing here. We even had Finn for over a week.  . Well it worked just fine. maybe it is old posts that go away. We lost the osprey nest on the marina, they did not produce nor did the eagles on the cell tower.  . My osprey on the sports complex outside our door are doing fantastic. Last week we took an hours worth of photo's of the chicks flying up and down from the nest to test out those wings. last night we went to visit then due to all the calls. I was out in my yeard with tripod and enjoying the breeze and cool air. Some young adults in the field fired a rocket of some sort and I went running. Yes was worried it was coming my way. Saw the smoke trail heard the whistle. The camera being so heavy bent and pinched my finger. 88888**** . took the camera off the tripod and asked al to drive this crazy lady in her pj's and slippers around to the sports complex. I saw two boys looking around behind trucks. I went to check on chicks. Well one in the nest with mom. Then spotted dad eating on a different post. Then saw something far across the field. Chick #1 had fledged. When dad was done eating he shared with chick 1. Mom and chick two lots of calls. dad headed to the bay and came back in ten minutes or so with more food. Dropped it off with mom who ripped it up and fed chick two. The boys walked by our car talking to a lady saying they could not find there rocket. HMMMM yea by my house. They were looking it he wrong area. Ok more photo's to share. happy July. |
