After being MIA for almost a week Mr. & Mrs. Duck returned the other day. They've made several visits in the past 3 days. I was out most of Monday but they were there in the morning and showed up on the patio at about 8pm Monday night. This evening they came were here for over an hour. He was in the pool for a long time (unusual for him). At one point he was so relaxed he was leaning with his back against the pool, kind of on his side, stretching his leg while cleaning his feathers. You can kind of see it in the one picture. Here are a couple of photos:

The pool water was a bit dirty because it rained and stuff from the trees fell in. They seemed to like it, lol. Maybe that's why they stayed in so much longer than when I clean/refill it. Attachments:

They look so perfectly content in your 'pond'! Would be nice if they found a nice secluded spot nearby to nest in so you'd be able to admire their ducklings this year!

That is so sweet. I love watching the birds splash at the edge of the lake or in my shallow bird bath on the the steps. the cat birds love it and the house finches. I did have one goldfinch with eye disease. had to take down the feeder. which prompted me to buy the globe feeder that the bigger birds could not get into. Photo's with the 600 mm. So hard to hold it. I ususally use our van as a blind and put the window down and rest it on the half open window. Ginny H.

One of my Easter presents was this wood filled house . It invites the bugs and helps bees. Then the birds can also eat what they need. The Marina Osprey are two blocks from the Sports field Ospreys. The Marina is the one that got moved last year. I hope they have a good year. I think they are the young of the sports field Osprey. We also have a police cell tower nest. And what we call the top tomato nest. We may be running out of room. Oh year also the reservoir Wall Brick has a nest. I am sure they have some out on the bay also. Good signs. My daughter got chickens for eggs, they are now old enough to be in the coop. Yesterday while out in the yard with a friend who also raises chickens, they noticed my lake yard birds , blue jays and crows squaking. then they noticed the chickens all run under the enclosed hen house and one by one into the hen house. Looking around they wondered what spooked them. all of a sudden over head flew an eagle. Glad to see at this young age they have good sence. she said your yard birds protected my chickens. That eagle name is edger. he in a few years old. they had never seen eagles in that are of Mass. Ginny H.

You should send that in to Birds & Blooms or one of those magazines.
