Urgh! I hate children with fireworks...especially when those 'children' are actually adults... *sigh* Very annoying. And they chased off the Mrs!! Bah... Congrats on your baby red-bellied, though! They're so cute! And so clumsy! LOL We've got lots of babies, too. Haven't seen any catbird youngsters, yet, but lots of grosbeaks, orioles, woodpeckers, and towhees. There is also a smattering of warbler babies--mostly Chestnut-sided, Ovenbird, and Common yellowthroats. Oh, and at least one brood of Indigo buntings--mom brings the babies to forage along the southern edge of the yard. The hummingbird juvies are beginning to show up in force at the nectar. The migration just started for the hummers--we've had excess males passing through the yard and our nectar consumption when from 4 cups yesterday to 8 cups today! Good thing we continued stocking up on sugar even though demand at the feeders has been down since the flowers started blooming--I think we're going to need it! The jewelweed is just beginning to bloom now, with the first flowers opening yesterday. We have a 60-ft x 20 ft area covered in jewelweed plants about 5 ft high, with lots of buds--and the hummingbirds love the nectar. Once the plants are blooming in earnest, it'll help feed the migrants as they pass through. I love watching them work the patch. Have not gotten many pics, though. I need to get out with the blind, but haven't had the time. Maybe I need to make some time now that the weather seems to be getting a little nicer.

I hope you find some photo time. I'd love to see all those babies! Tonight I kept seeing young red bellieds so I grabbed my camera. Upon examination of their little heads I believe I have 3! One is a male, you can see the red across his head. One looks to be a female, with a break in the red. And the third seems to young to tell yet. I'll post the heads tomorrow & see if you agree that its 3 different birds and not just the angle.

I think I messed up the smileys, I will look into it more tomorrow. They're off of photobucket and onto postimage. I just need to re-enable and test everything. Sorry about all those annoying photobucket messages.

I suspect we can all live without smileys for a while! So no urgency... I finally closed out my photobucket account entirely because it was getting to be such a pita. And now they want to charge for being a pita. Awesome....NOT! LOL
