I thought it was gonna be a total loss but after four hours i was impressed. Even a new sighting. Not sure but I think I saw a blue bird by the brush but did not get a photo. we were cleaning windows and removing some of the screens. amazing how much more you can see with clean windows. the screens had the windows so spotted from rain. I never would have seen the brown creeper with out clean windows and no screen.
white throated sparrow 3 cardinal M F white breasted nut 1 downy woodpecker M F Brown creeper , first time seeing him here dark eye junco 3 morning doves 4 red bellie 1 male only came once, I was insulted. tufted T 3 black cap 2 carolina wren 1 also new. three very fat squirrels. I will share photo's on the Photo thread. Ginny H.

Nice count. Would love to see a brown creeper here--it's been a few years since we were last treated to one!

Very nice count Ginny. Question: What does M F mean?
L2B - I wondered too and decided it might mean she saw a male and a female of those birds.

Sweet bird, that creeper! I get a few scattered visits every count season. You really have to be watching hard to pick them out on the bark!

Your variety is on the rise! But the creeper didn't come back? Bah... Glad your red-bellied woodpecker came back! Is it visiting more regularly now?

Hello everyone and happy new year. I am way behind in checking in. I had a yard full of birds today and got excited. I don't use my lap top as much as my phone so coming on to do bird stuff is the only reason I come on the lap top. We went right from putting away christmas stuff to unpacking boxes we did not get to before christmas. More of my chirstmas stuff was at the lake then I thought. Al said he looked but did not see any xmass boxes. I was with out stockings. and plates. lol Bought stocking at the dallor store. Exctpt finns he got a mickey mouse one. I have beautiful cardinal stocking i missed a lot. Bought them with my aunt Bridie so they are very special. Probably why I took them to the lake and not storage. When we took the tree out we put it on the lounge chair, filled it with water still in the base, and put the christmas present, seed cakes of assorted shapes on it. This way I could see it from the family room. All is eaton and the wind blue it over the other night. Will try and get it up before the snow. fill the stand to help hold it down, could tie it to the iron mesh. i have a seed wreath and balls of seed. Amy gave me a stork wire that holds the two balls of seed. We have a neighbor at the end of the street by the busy road that lets the yellow lab run free, He has taken to coming in our yard leaving me a present and trying to climb the bird pole for suet. Not good. The owner is a state trooper with three kids who the wife is not so good at watching either. I am at the cal de sac part of the street so they ride the electric car up here. 7 5 and 1yr. We are expecting some snow tonight and the birds were just amazing in the yard. Robins which i have not seen, I saw that south of us at Forsythe they had a lot of robin counts in last friday walk. I had house sparrows, i do not see. The song sparrow I have been seeing and the junco, and gold finches. hairy and downy come a lot. 5 cardinals, I also had the eagle fly over at ten today. I saw him yesterday on the cell tower two miles up the road, that is were the nest has been for years. I hope he_she gets another mate. hate to see them alone. We have flocks of geese that fly over a few times a day. They go from the field to the lagoon to the pond which is now white with ice. Hope everyone is happy and healthy and excited with the birds in your area. Ginny H.
