They have us so well-trained! LOL They sure do. We're all out there in the snow and ice balancing carrying seed, suet, etc. for them.

How funny - I have had a mockingbird here every day for the past 4 days. I put some crumbled suet in the platform and he's eating that and some grapes. I think I got a picture of him, will check the camera tomorrow.

My Mockingbird has been here for a few weeks now. Just love seeing him every day, though I didn't see him yesterday at all. I'm thinking he's heading elsewhere. I wish I knew where.

I can't resist mentioning that my Mockingbird is still here. Yippee! He's enjoying all the fruit and jelly. Doesn't seem too interested in the grapes so I mashed them up more. He's a joy for me to see, I guess because I've rarely seen them in my backyard.

Pretty interesting how the mockers are showing up in different places! Glad you're having fun with your visitor, Barbara. He has you trained very well to mash its grapes.

I'm envious of everyone's Mockingbirds, wished I had one.

Finally got a halfway decent picture of him. He seems to like the crumbled suet the best but will eat some grapes and peanuts (no shell). I'm pretty sure the only reason his is here eating like this is because of the never melting snow. Everything has been covered in snow for about 45 days now. Once we melt he'll go back to coming by for the bath a couple of times throughout the year.

Lucky you, downylover! I'd fall over if we ever got a mockingbird here. It would have to be lost as we're so far out of range! LOL But they're such cool birds, even if they do have a bit of the bully in them! Looks like you're serving a nice smorgasbord, too! If I were a bird, I'd be in your yard...

Lue, yes, working so hard mashing those grapes, cutting up oranges, and doling out jelly...
Hazel, just reading about Mockingbirds. They say they're extremely smart and recognize people. My Mockingbird doesn't seem to mind the other birds around. Last time I saw one, in the spring, he was quite aggressive chasing others away from the fruit.
Downylover, I like your pictures and your feeder set-up.

I've been going all out for the past month or so. The ground has been covered in snow for a month and half. I feel so bad for them. The mockingbird so far has only chased Starlings. I hope he keeps doing it. My sister's mockingbird chases all the birds. And her dog. And her husband!

Downylover, I couldn't help but smile at your description of the Mockingbird chasing everyone. But I had one a few years back that chased every bird that came to the feeders. I felt sorry for him because he must have been exhausted as there were far too many birds for him to chase.

My Mockingbird is back. I'm so happy. He was gone for two days, and I figured he was gone for good. He arrived back yesterday looking for his jelly & oranges. I had to quick get him both and rush out to the feeders with them. I see him eating up the jelly but he doesn't seem to be too interested in the oranges. Have to put out more grapes, too. Mashed, of course.
